Chilli Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 lb ground beef
- Adobo to taste
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp sofrito
- 3/4 cup diced onion
- 3/4 cup diced green pepper
- 2 cloves fresh garlic, minced
- 1 1/2 tbsp chili powder
- 2 tsp cumin or to taste
- 1/2 tsp oregano
- 1 cup tomato sauce
- 1 package sazon with culantro and achiote
- 1 can 14oz diced tomatoes
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 bouillon knorr creole with annatto
- 1 can 15oz goya red beans, undrained
Procedure:
Season meat with Adobo. Set aside. In skillet, heat oil on medium. Stir in sofrito, onion, pepper and garlic and cook until onion is translucent, about 10 minutes. Add meat and cook until browned. Drain excess oil. Stir in chili powder, cumin and oregano. Cook for 3 minutes, stirring often. Stir in tomato sauce, sazón, diced tomatoes, water and bouillon, and simmer for 15 minutes. Stir in beans and simmer for 10 minutes or until it reaches desired consistency.
